Duration: Initial 12 months with 2 x 12-month extensions

Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support business-as-usual and project-related activities within the Information Management and Technology Division. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and support of data warehouse and business intelligence solutions by analysing business requirements and developing high-level solutions that align with strategic objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Study business processes, systems, and performance to identify improvement opportunities
- Gather and document business requirements and translate them into clear technical specifications
- Create data models, process diagrams, and wireframes to visualise solutions
- Act as a liaison between stakeholders and technical teams
- Assist with system testing and implementation
- Compile and present data reports and recommendations
- Develop user documentation and training materials
- Express stakeholder needs as user stories and functional requirements
- Conduct in-depth analysis of processes, data, and systems
- Collaborate with technical teams, product owners, and end users to deliver solutions
Requirements:
- Strong experience in business analysis and solution architecture within federal government environments
- Skilled in Business Situation Analysis (BUSA) and Requirements Definition and Management (REQM) – SFIA Level 4
- Ability to elicit and document functional and non-functional requirements
- Strong communication and facilitation skills
- Proactive identification of process gaps and application of modelling standards
- Experience in technology-driven business solutions
- Capability to work across multidisciplinary teams

Essential Criteria:
- Exceptional ability to confidently elicit and define epics, user stories & acceptance criteria following best practice principles as well as identifying, eliciting, and defining non-functional requirements (NFR) using NFR catalogues or similar
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to facilitate interviews, workshops and document analysis, as well as working closely with stakeholders to elicit needs and develop a shared understanding of current processes
- Ability to proactively consider and undertake work to identify gaps, potential waste and suggest improvements. Apply and monitor appropriate use of modelling and analysis tools, methods and standards
- Experience applying Business Analysis practice to Business Problems supporting solution development in an emerging technology area
- The ability to work effectively with a wide range of people across different teams
- 7+ Years in a similar role
