Duration: Initial 12 months with 2 x 12-month extensions

Description:

Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Business Analyst to support various ICT projects across the division, including those involving artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. This role sits within a dynamic team that provides enabling services and operations delivery to both the department and Australian businesses.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyse and model current and future business processes and information environments
  • Investigate and document data requirements, user journeys and information flows
  • Engage with stakeholders to analyse needs and develop fit-for-purpose solutions
  • Create business documentation including business cases, requirement specs, process maps, and user stories
  • Conduct technical research and analysis aligned with departmental policies
  • Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications
  • Evaluate solution options considering broad impacts across government
  • Develop requirements artefacts within Agile project environments

Requirements:

  • Ability to facilitate workshops and analyse complex information from multiple sources
  • Proficient in writing technical documentation and specifications
  • Skilled in creating user stories and acceptance criteria for developers and testers
  • Experience working in Agile teams on complex digital projects
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience facilitating workshops and analysing complex information from a range of sources to generate a clear understanding of business and user needs, identify inefficiencies and improvements and translate these into technical specifications (e.g. business requirements, process maps, data models, use cases, business scenarios)
  • Experience in developing User Stories and acceptance criteria that clearly and succinctly specifies the information developers and testers require to deliver and test solutions
  • Experience working on complex digital projects in an Agile environment to account for interdependencies and support team workflows
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and presentation skills

Desirable Criteria:

  • Relevant experience in implementing Information Technology Services
  • Experience documenting requirements for Sitecore
  • Experience using Azure DevOps for user story creation and tracking of acceptance criteria
  • Experience or knowledge of Dynamics 365 or Power Platform, Azure Cloud and Google Analytics
