Description:

Our client is seeking a Commercial Specialist to develop and manage commercial strategies across Commonwealth tenders and contracts. The successful candidate will provide commercial leadership throughout the procurement lifecycle, ensuring compliance with relevant frameworks and alignment with value for money principles. This role will work closely with pricing, finance, legal and technical stakeholders to deliver commercially robust and defensible solutions within complex contracting environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage commercial strategies for Commonwealth tenders and contracts
  • Analyse procurement models including firm price, cost plus and performance based arrangements
  • Identify and manage commercial risks
  • Shape negotiation positions and support contract negotiations
  • Lead subcontractor teaming arrangements
  • Draft and review contractual clauses
  • Assess KPIs and abatement regimes
  • Collaborate with pricing, finance, legal and technical teams to ensure commercially sound outcomes aligned with value for money expectations

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing commercial strategies for Commonwealth tenders and contracts
  • Strong understanding of procurement models including firm price, cost plus and performance based arrangements
  • Experience identifying commercial risks and shaping negotiation positions
  • Proven capability in drafting and reviewing contractual clauses
  • Experience leading subcontractor teaming arrangements
  • Knowledge of KPIs and abatement regimes
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
