Description:
Our client is seeking Enterprise / Solution Architects to support the establishment and maturation of enterprise architecture practices while providing solution-level architecture leadership for digital and ICT initiatives.
The role combines enterprise architecture strategy with solution architecture delivery. The successful candidates will work with business stakeholders, delivery teams and governance bodies to ensure architecture is aligned at the enterprise level and executable at the solution level. The position will contribute to portfolio planning, ICT investment decisions and the delivery of scalable and well-governed technology solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement an enterprise architecture framework tailored to organisational needs
- Develop and maintain enterprise architecture artefacts including business capability models, target state architectures, technology roadmaps and technical landscape overviews
- Support and strengthen architecture governance to enable consistent and scalable technology decision-making
- Translate strategic objectives, policy drivers and investment priorities into actionable enterprise architecture guidance
- Provide architecture advice to support portfolio planning, investment proposals and alignment with whole-of-government approaches
- Lead or assure end-to-end solution architectures for digital and ICT initiatives from discovery through to delivery
- Produce and review architecture artefacts including high-level designs, detailed designs, options analyses and architecture assessments
- Ensure solution designs align with enterprise architecture standards, security requirements and government policies
- Work collaboratively with delivery teams, platform specialists, cyber security and business stakeholders to design sustainable and fit-for-purpose solutions
- Identify architectural risks, constraints and dependencies and provide recommendations to support informed decision-making
- Collaborate across business and ICT teams to ensure architecture practices are consistently understood and applied
- Coach and support architects, delivery teams and stakeholders in architecture best practices
- Contribute to continuous improvement of architecture capability, tools, patterns and guidance
Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience working in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, or a combination of both
- Ability to operate across strategic architecture planning and solution delivery contexts
- Experience developing architecture artefacts within complex ICT environments
- Ability to work with business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver practical architecture outcomes
- Experience contributing to governance processes and architecture assurance activities

Essential Criteria:
- 5+ years’ experience operating as an Enterprise Architect and/or Solution Architect, ideally within Australian Government environments. Demonstrated ability to work across both enterprise-level strategic architecture and solution-level design and assurance.
- Proven experience developing enterprise architecture artefacts and solution architectures in complex environments. Demonstrated experience translating strategic objectives and business requirements into actionable architecture deliverables.
- Strong understanding of architecture principles, practices, and governance, and the ability to apply them pragmatically.
- Experience designing end-to-end solutions across application, data, integration, infrastructure/cloud, and security domains.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across business and technical audiences.
- Deep understanding of Australian Government digital policies, architecture standards, and whole-of-government strategies, including alignment with Digital Transformation Agency (DTA) requirements.
