Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain Baseline

Duration: Initial 12 months with 2 x 12-month extensions

Description:

Our client is seeking experienced Front End Developers / UI Designers with a strong dual skillset across development and design. You will work within multi-disciplinary teams to deliver intuitive, user-centric digital solutions through rapid prototyping, testing and iterative design.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and iterate user-centric designs based on user feedback
  • Develop user-focused UI designs, including user flows, prototypes and high-fidelity interfaces
  • Conduct user experience evaluations to ensure usability and accessibility standards are met
  • Implement responsive UI components using HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Collaborate with user researchers and designers to translate usability findings into UI improvements
  • Advocate for user-centred design solutions and collaborate with developers
  • Support and guide backend engineers on usability and front-end development considerations
  • Translate designs, wireframes and prototypes into high-quality, accessible front-end code
  • Contribute to product improvements, features and user experience enhancements
  • Work collaboratively within Agile, multi-disciplinary teams

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in front-end development and UI design
  • Strong knowledge of responsive design and modern JavaScript frameworks
  • Experience with prototyping tools and design systems
  • Understanding of accessibility standards and implementation
  • Ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams

Essential Criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience designing user interfaces working within to an existing style guide and/or design system using HTML, CSS, and Javascript framework such as ReactJS, and/or Angular.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to work with and influence multiple stakeholders, and clearly articulate design decisions through a well-conceived rationale.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with others to translate findings from usability testing into actionable improvements to a user interface.
  • Knowledge and implementation of Accessibility requirements - Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA as a minimum.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience designing wireframes, user interfaces, and interactive prototypes with a high attention to detail and ability to rapidly prototype, test, and iterate designs.
  • Tertiary Qualifications in a design or computer science/ICT related discipline (Human Factors, Communication/Graphic Design, Systems Design, Psychology, Computer Interaction, Web development etc.)
