Duration: Initial 12 months with 1 x 12-month extension

Working arrangements: Hybrid – candidates are required to work onsite in Canberra. Working remotely up to two days per week may be negotiated after six months, subject to approval and our client’s home-based work policy.

Description:

Our client is seeking a Senior Systems Analyst to support the delivery of a new capability. The role will be responsible for eliciting and documenting technical requirements, leading the identification of a solution that meets business requirements, and contributing to the design and implementation of the solution.

The Senior Systems Analyst will work closely with the selected vendor, business stakeholders, technical teams and project resources to support successful solution delivery.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the management and maintenance of business and technical requirements in Azure DevOps in accordance with the Agile methodology.
• Support solution design activities to ensure alignment with business, operational and technical needs.
• Work collaboratively with business stakeholders, project teams, vendors and technical specialists to deliver project outcomes.
• Facilitate system integration, data migration, testing and deployment activities.
• Analyse complex business processes and identify opportunities for capability improvement and optimisation.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including requirements specifications, design artefacts, test plans and operational procedures.
• Support change, release and implementation activities to ensure successful transition into production.
• Identify, manage and escalate project risks, issues and dependencies as required.
• Provide expert advice and recommendations on system design, functionality and implementation approaches.
• Ensure solutions comply with our client’s security, information management, architecture and governance requirements.
• Support knowledge transfer activities and contribute to the ongoing sustainment and enhancement of the capability.

• Experience gathering, analysing, evaluating, documenting, managing and maintaining business and system requirements.
• Experience working with business stakeholders, project resources, vendors and technical specialists.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• Experience supporting solution design and implementation activities.
• Ability to analyse complex business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Experience preparing and maintaining requirements, design, testing and operational documentation.
• Experience supporting system integration, data migration, testing and deployment activities.

Essential Criteria:

• Proven experience in the gathering, analysis, evaluation and documentation, management and maintenance of high-quality business and system requirements
• Proven experience or the ability to participate in a complex multi-stage procurement process
• Proven experience in building and maintaining strong relationships with staff, project resources and vendor resources in the delivery of new capabilities
• Excellent communications skills including proven experience in representing the work area in meetings, workshop facilitation and contributing to briefings for senior internal or external stakeholders
• Whole of life costs to the Commonwealth

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience in the use of Azure DevOps for the management and maintenance of requirements using the Agile methodology
