Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced EL1 Senior Software Engineer to provide technical leadership in the design, development and delivery of complex enterprise software solutions. The role will lead software development initiatives, guide engineering teams, and ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions aligned with business and technical requirements.
The successful candidate will oversee development activities, manage complex technical issues, and ensure adherence to endorsed software development standards and methodologies. This role requires a strong background in enterprise software development, technical architecture, and leadership within Agile and production environments.
Responsibilities:

Lead and create software and technical designs for the realisation of highly complex development solutions

Develop strategy to ensure high quality code and long-term maintenance of a product’s code base

Provide specialist technical advice on software development and maintenance
-
Lead the release and ensure go-live production support and maintenance for the team’s developments
-
Lead analysis, design, software development, prototyping, unit testing and maintenance activities
-
Review and undertake high-level analysis of technical requirements to support project evaluation with proposed solutions
-
Ensure compliance with endorsed software development methodologies
-
Investigate and resolve highly complex ICT issues
-
Lead a positive risk management culture

Engage and manage stakeholder relationships and partner with other agencies and service providers to build service delivery capability
-
Contribute to business and strategic workforce planning and drive the development of local strategies to improve key performance measures

Review and prepare reports, briefs and corporate documentation and communicate technical findings and recommendations

Manage business objectives and implement strategic priorities to achieve outcomes

Lead the development and delivery of projects within the assigned area of responsibility

Perform and manage cost analysis activities as required

Lead and manage staff to increase performance and engagement through coaching, capability development, performance management, and health and well-being support

Exercise appropriate delegation in accordance with legislations and guidelines
Requirements:

Advanced level skills in developing technical SAP solutions
-
Demonstrated practical experience in designing and developing high quality solutions in large and complex enterprise environments

Ability to perform the requirements of the role within a large complex and geographically dispersed ICT environment

Demonstrated experience working in both Agile and waterfall work styles

Strong analytical and problem solving skills to create and optimise SAP applications
