Description:

Our client is seeking a Policy Business Analyst (EL1) to support the development and implementation of policy and project design initiatives. The role focuses on aligning policy objectives with business processes, stakeholder needs, and technology solutions. You will work closely with stakeholders to analyse, develop, and refine policies while ensuring compliance with legislative and operational requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyse existing policies, regulations, and frameworks to assess their impact on business operations
  • Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and risks in current policy implementations
  • Develop and refine policy documents, business rules, and compliance guidelines
  • Ensure policy recommendations align with legislative requirements and industry best practices
  • Document and analyse business processes to determine how policies are implemented in practice
  • Work with business units to identify areas for policy-driven process improvement
  • Develop process models and workflows to support policy changes
  • Translate policy objectives into functional and non-functional business requirements
  • Develop documentation including business requirements documents, user stories, and policy impact assessments
  • Support IT teams in interpreting policy requirements for system implementation

Requirements:

  • Experience analysing policies, regulations, and frameworks
  • Ability to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and risks in policy implementation
  • Experience developing and refining policy documents and business rules
  • Strong understanding of legislative and regulatory alignment
  • Experience documenting and analysing business processes
  • Ability to develop process models and workflows
  • Experience translating policy objectives into business and technical requirements
  • Strong documentation skills, including BRDs and user stories
  • Ability to work with IT teams to support system implementation of policy requirements

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience working in government within policy in support of ICT projects
  • Experience using Visio or other process mapping tools
