Duration: Initial 12 months with 2 x 12-month extensions

Description:

Our client is seeking experienced Cloud Engineers and/or Architects with a minimum of five years’ experience to assist with the delivery of various ICT projects. The successful candidates will develop and manage enterprise and application-level cloud architectures, provide technical guidance and support the delivery of secure, reliable and user-friendly cloud solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop enterprise-level cloud platform architectures for MS Azure and M365.
  • Develop high-level solution architectures for cloud-based systems.
  • Develop detailed architecture guidance for cloud engineers.
  • Provide impact analysis of user/stakeholder requirements.
  • Ensure enterprise and system solutions maintain adherence to whole-of-government standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and input into the design and build of cloud-based systems.
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams including business owners, scrum masters, business analysts, developers, enterprise architects and testers to produce solutions in accordance with stakeholder requirements and project objectives.
  • Liaise with relevant teams to ensure architectural decisions incorporate user experience considerations and align with target architectures and technology.
  • Provide expertise and assistance in platform automation, including testing, continuous integration and deployment.
  • Promote key enterprise architecture principles applicable to cloud platforms, including re-use before buy/build, configure over customise, and open data/access over siloed functionality.
  • Promote and provide assistance to ensure solutions align with the Digital Service Standard.
  • Be strategic, a leader and influencer.
  • Undertake additional duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum five years’ experience implementing and managing cloud systems and technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Azure technologies.
  • Experience developing enterprise and application-level architectures for MS Azure.
  • Experience providing impact analysis and technical guidance for project design and development.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.
  • Experience working in Agile multi-disciplinary environments.

  • Cloud experience: Demonstrated experience in cloud-based solution implementation with technologies including:
    • Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, Azure SQL, Azure Service Bus and Azure API Management
    • Azure DevOps for code development, management, repositories, Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD deployments
    • Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Key Vault, Azure Monitor and Application Insights
    • Integrating cloud-based systems with third-party systems, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM
    • Azure networking, security and identity management capabilities including Virtual Networks, Private Endpoints and Role Based Access Control

  • Technical Skills: Demonstrated experience 5yrs+ implementing and managing cloud systems and technologies. The Cloud Architect/Engineer will:
    • Liaise with cross-functional teams to develop and manage enterprise and application-level architectures for MS-Azure.
    • Provide impact analysis and technical guidance in design and development of project work aligned with WoG Standards

Desirable Criteria:

  • Demonstrated track record of technical leadership across project and operational tasks
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of cloud-based technologies and architectures
  • Demonstrated experience in application and integration, or infrastructure platform architecture.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience designing and documenting architectures for large, complex enterprise systems.
  • Experience with AWS and/or GCP is desirable but not essential.
