Description:

Our client is seeking an Associate Customer Support Officer to support certification processes for domestic seafarers. The successful candidate will work closely with the Certification Officer – Seafarer and key stakeholders, including industry groups and other internal divisions. This role plays a vital part in the administration of certification in accordance with Marine Order 505 and in providing clear and timely support to stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Enter and maintain accurate data in customer records systems for domestic (near coastal) applications

  • Lodge, assess, and process certification applications

  • Verify certificates of competency issued domestically and internationally

  • Interpret and apply legislative instruments, procedures, and qualification instructions

  • Provide verbal and written support to stakeholders to promote compliance and understanding

  • Identify and implement process improvements and contribute to change management

  • Assist Seafarer Certification Services (SCS) teams across regional offices as required

  • Participate actively in team meetings and organisational initiatives

  • Uphold organisational values and code of conduct

Requirements:

  • Experience using Microsoft Office suite

  • Strong commitment to delivering quality outcomes on schedule

  • Familiarity with computerised records management systems (preferably Content Manager)

  • Proven administrative experience and/or relevant qualifications

  • Strong numerical, written, and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to explain complex information to a diverse audience
