Duration: Initial 12 months with 1 x 12-month extension

Description:

Our client is seeking experienced and motivated Lead Cloud Architects to support the delivery of various ICT projects. This role will involve developing high-level and detailed architecture for Microsoft Azure and M365 platforms, while ensuring alignment with government standards and user-centred design. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, providing strategic guidance and leading the development of cloud-based solutions within a dynamic and agile environment.

Responsibilities:

• Develop enterprise-level cloud platform architectures for MS Azure and M365
• Design high-level solution architectures for cloud-based systems
• Create detailed architectural guidance for cloud engineers
• Analyse the impact of user and stakeholder requirements
• Ensure solutions adhere to whole-of-government standards
• Provide input into the design and build of cloud-based systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business and technical stakeholders
• Integrate user experience into architectural decision-making
• Align solutions with departmental target architectures and technologies
• Assist with platform automation including testing, CI/CD, and deployment
• Promote enterprise architecture principles across cloud platforms
• Ensure alignment with the Digital Transformation Agency’s Digital Service Standard
• Demonstrate strategic leadership and influence within teams
• Perform other duties as required

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in cloud system implementation and management
• Azure Logic Apps, Azure SQL, Azure Service Bus, Azure API Manager
• Azure DevOps and Visual Studio for code development and CI/CD
• Integrating custom applications with third-party systems, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM
• Ability to work in geographically dispersed teams
• Strong collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience working in Agile multi-disciplinary teams
• Flexible approach to changing requirements and scope

Essential Criteria:

• Demonstrated experience in cloud-based solution implementation with technologies including:
  • Azure Logic Apps, Azure SQL, Azure Service Bus, Azure API Manager
  • Azure DevOps and Visual Studio for code development, management, repositories, and CI/CD
  • Integration of custom-built applications with third-party systems, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM
• Ability to work with geographically dispersed teams
• Ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical staff at all levels
• Experience mentoring and fostering collaboration within teams
• Experience working in Agile multi-disciplinary teams
• Ability to adapt pragmatically to changes in direction and scope
• Minimum 5 years’ experience implementing and managing cloud systems
• Experience developing and managing enterprise and application-level architectures for MS Azure
• Ability to perform impact analysis and provide technical guidance in design and development aligned with whole-of-government standards

Desirable Criteria:

• Demonstrated track record of technical leadership across project and operational tasks
• Demonstrated experience and understanding of cloud-based technologies and architectures
• Experience in application and integration, or infrastructure platform architecture
• Minimum 3 years’ experience designing and documenting architectures for large, complex enterprise systems
