Duration: Initial 12 months with 2 x 12-month extensions

Description:

Our client is seeking an experienced Lead Cyber Advisor to support information and cyber security outcomes across the organisation. The role requires senior-level capability in cyber security advisory functions, including assessment, analysis, reporting, stakeholder engagement and team leadership. The successful candidate will operate at an APS EL1 equivalent level of responsibility.

Responsibilities:

  • Certify or validate systems to support accreditations through the collection and analysis of cyber and information security data

  • Produce high quality information and cyber security reporting, policy or doctrine

  • Analyse detection and response statistics, security incidents and breaches, and prepare formal correspondence

  • Translate and explain complex cyber and information security matters to a range of stakeholders, including representation at forums

  • Research and analyse cyber and information security activities or data to improve security posture

  • Build and sustain effective relationships with stakeholders and customers

  • Motivate and mentor team members, align skills and allocate resources to deliver outcomes

  • Establish, assess and analyse cyber and information security practices to ensure compliance with legislation and standards

  • Evaluate business practices and objectives to support continuous improvement

  • Identify cyber security vulnerabilities and forecast potential threats using innovative research techniques

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated senior experience in cyber security or information security advisory roles

  • Ability to operate at an APS EL1 equivalent level

  • Availability to work onsite in QLD, ACT or VIC

  • Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance

Essential Criteria:

  • Ability to plan, manage and execute vulnerability assessments and/or risk assessments in relation to information security and cyber security

  • Demonstrated experience in researching tools and techniques in the cyber security/information security domain and the ability to translate complex data into business level reporting

  • Demonstrated experience in the investigation, analysis and assessment of security breaches and/or threats and associated mitigation strategies

  • Experience in creation and maintenance of cyber security and/or information security practices, procedures, standards and guidelines

Desirable Criteria:

  • Certification as an IRAP Assessor
