Description:

Our client has a requirement for an experienced Product Owner to join their team. The successful candidate will support the enhancement of business systems that underpin security functions across Australia and international locations.

The role will focus on defining product vision and strategy, managing delivery roadmaps, and working closely with stakeholders and IT partners to ensure effective and timely product development in a complex environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with defining and managing the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for multiple projects

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to analyse needs and align product roadmap to strategic goals

  • Gather and prioritise stakeholder requirements into a clear product backlog according to business value or ROI

  • Continuously refine backlog based on feedback and identified needs

  • Develop detailed product feature specifications and ensure they are clearly understood by relevant teams

  • Oversee the product development process

  • Provide regular progress reports to stakeholders

  • Work closely with IT partners to provide clear requirements and ensure smooth delivery

  • Manage product release priorities for delivery of new functionalities

  • Track product performance and use insights to guide improvements

  • Mitigate roadblocks to achieving business goals

  • Contribute to organisational change management when delivering the product

  • Serve as the product ambassador, sharing knowledge and responding to queries

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role

  • Strong understanding of Agile principles and practices

  • Understanding of business value related to features and functions

  • Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to effectively manage conflicting stakeholder needs

  • Data-driven mindset with strong analytical skills

  • Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving abilities

  • Experience working in complex environments

  • NV1 Australian Government security clearance (minimum)
